Le Bistro Kitchen Nightmares

La Bistro Kitchen Nightmare 22Find out what Gordon Ramsay did at Le Bistro. We’re a hood cleaning firm and have our own kitchen nightmares so these stories are fascinating to us.

Episode Recap

Le Bistro aired February 11, 2010, and was originally filmed in July 2009. It is Kitchen Nightmares Season 3 Episode 6.

Gordon requests Andy to make his own dishes and not order from the menu.

Gordon later sees Andy and says that Andy’s food is too old-fashioned. He believes it has been stuck in the 80s for too long and is therefore sad.

Gordon later observes dinner service and sees Andy refusing to allow Andy to take orders.

Only a few orders are left in the kitchen after an hour of service. Food is quickly sent back almost immediately.

Andy is averse to customer feedback and refuses corrective action, asking them to select another item from the menu.

Andy defends his system stating that because he is the one cooking and taking orders, it slows it down enough to enable him to keep up.

Andy again gets defensive and says, “Are you looking for naked girls dancing on the tables?” to them.

They meet again the next morning to see the new sign. The interior space was also opened up after the booths had been taken down.

Gordon cooked alongside Andy on the new menu. They presented the dishes to the delight and delight of their staff.

Andy was not responsive. However, he is now communicating more with Hendrick and is returning to work.

Revisiting Le Bistro Kitchen Nightmares

Andy has seen a great deal of improvement, and he is actually less tired. Gordon asks Andy to surprise Andy with his lunch.

This could be a case where stubbornness is good quality. Gordon may have had to work for months to bring Andy along and break down his walls. Perhaps because of that stubbornness, he hasn’t given up on it like many owners.

It was refreshing to see someone awaken and not just fake it on television. It felt so sudden, and there was no usual catastrophe to trigger it. However, he wasn’t running his business. He was treating his employees (and his wife) with contempt and delegating power in an inappropriate manner. Because his problem wasn’t laziness he was able to make the necessary changes.

The Comment Section

“Folks. It doesn’t really matter if Andy’s home is closed. If Andy were anywhere near what he used to be, this place would be closed. Something has changed… Give him that. He is “open” to all comments, regardless of whether he is here commenting. The food and service must be enjoyed by someone. This is my $0.02 worth.La Bistro Kitchen Nightmare 21

The man was able restructure his business and make it profitable. We were able to see a few of their lowest moments. However, those on the other end of the screen have the right to judge a couple based solely upon these fleeting moments. Preposterous. This man is not someone I know personally. One can certainly draw disdain towards Ramsey’s persona/persona on television, but any further assertions beyond what is readily available is insane.

“Genuinely shocked that this one remains open. Andy’s ego, I thought, would lead him to prefer his old recipes over using someone else’s.

“His wife (a goddess) is a berk. However, he managed to turn the business around after being repeatedly beaten over the head (figuratively).

“Truly, one of the most remarkable chef transformations since Gordon’s nightmare kitchen. From an angry Andy, to calm and persistent (on the positive side: for learning and sharing information). Kudos to you! Your wife and family are a great team. God Bless you and your family!”

La Bistro Kitchen Nightmare 20“Frankly I believe that the poor person was depressed at first and was already blaming him. This is a common position for men. He is not perfect but he is a man of integrity who accepted – eventually! His wife knows him well and she didn’t leave. I am happy to see what the outcome was and, if it is still operating, great. He was obviously very clean in the kitchen. These programs are not something I’ve seen on TV so I am unfamiliar with them. There are certain places that you can’t predict will succeed. But this guy is a hard-working man and I hope they succeed as long as they’re in the business.

“After reading some of these clueless comments by some of those closet reality shows shrinks, it’s easy to see why our country is such an ugly mess. He does not respect his customers or his wife. He’s not being stubborn. Gordon had to take him down as a bully and pompous. He was a bully.

Le Bistro has been open for 7 years, seven years after the filming. That alone is enough to prove Andy’s inability to post comments here. Ramsay’s assistance has helped him build a very successful business.

“WOW Le Bistro is still in business today. Fantastic! Gordon Ramsay’s guidance helped Andy transform his mindset and made him a phenomenal success at his restaurant. Enjoy your job well done and a happy new year 2019.

“This episode is a great example of editing magic. Andy seems to be a stubborn cook who doesn’t care what GR or his customers have to say. He suddenly and seemingly without cause, changes 180 degrees. As many people have stated, it is possible that he wasn’t as stubborn and stuck in his old ways. Ramsay’s criticism might have been combined with unrelated comments making Andy appear to not be listening. It is possible that he disagreed not with some of GR’s critiques. If he really was the way he was, his sudden transformation would make no sense, especially as nothing was done to cause the transformation. I’m happy that the restaurant isn’t only open, but also doing very well. That is rare for these Kitchen Nightmares companies.
