How to Clean a Restaurant Grill
There are many ways to clean griddle surfaces. Each type of griddle has its own cleaning requirements.
1. Vinegar Cleaning Method
Cleaning a griddle with vinegar is one method. To do this, take a spraybot and mix a 1:1 vinegar/water solution. Use a damp cloth and spray the vinegar solution over the griddle.
2. Commercial Griddle Cleaning Solution
Grab a griddle surface cleaner from the shop (e.g. Scotch Brite’s grid cleaning packets, or Stera Sheens grid surface cleaner), and follow the instructions on the bottle. For this method’s maximum effectiveness, you will need a cloth as well as a griddle pad.
3. How to Remove Rust from a Commercial Griddle
You’ll need a grill stone or a steel wool sponge to remove the rust from your commercial griddle.
Apply oil to the rusty grild and scrub the surface with the grill stone. After removing the oil, wipe the surface with paper towels. Repeat this process until all the rust has been removed from your griddle.
